Different people view success differently, as for some people success means getting a highly paid job; for some, it means spending time with family and friends; for students, it means getting a good grade…getting into a good college.

But will this make you happy?
Well, the answer could be yes/no. It is not always true that if you achieve everything mentioned above, you will be satisfied and happy as goals keep changing as time passes.

What should be your definition of success?

It depends upon your perspective. Some basic questions you could ask yourself are what you want to achieve and your dreams….. but the eventual question that you should ask yourself is if that dream, the achievement you want will satisfy you. Will it make you happy?

To me, till some years back success meant to get into a top college and get a competent job with handsome pay. But now when I think of it, it might not make me happy. (I am not trying to say that you should not aim for a good college.) I might have achieved whatever I wanted but there is a probability that I might not be happy working or I might not have enough time for family and friends.

Success should mean something that will give you satisfaction. You should not stress out for a good job or a good grade or a good college because getting into a good college or achieving good grades is very good but what if you don’t like to study then in that case you should develop yourself in a field you like. Achieving these things is not everything.

You should also keep working on your mental and physical health. Make sure that you spend time with your family because they are your ultimate support, your backbone.

In addition, I would also suggest that you talk to new people, make new friends. As talking to people will provide you with more knowledge in different aspects of life.

When I started to talk to new people, made new friends listened to them, it was like I was introduced to a new world. Seeing this world from a new perspective I noticed that there are people who don’t earn too much but are happy. I know people who only hold a diploma degree but then also are earning a lot and are satisfied with their life. Good grades/good college/a good job are important but they are not everything.

Make your life worth living, worth remembering.
